Composer and multi-instrumentalist Justin Lee Radford combines his unique mixture of sound and song to create ethereal, emotive and ambient works. He has cultivated extensive collaborations with film makers, environmentalists, astronauts, scientists and social activists whilst composing music for film, VR, commercials, art installations and theatre.
Described by BBC conductor and composer Charles Hazelwood as “a new breed of sonic adventurer,” Justin’s uses analogue synths, strings, tape, speed warps and computers to bring his ideas to life. His proudest moment to date is having his music included in the short film “Call To Earth”—a moving, impactful message from the world’s astronauts addressing international leaders at the Paris Climate Agreement (COP21).
He is currently at work on a collection of new music—“The 6th”—an ode to the natural world and biosphere, a continuation of his previous works with Director Guy Reid. He aims to tour this new work as a live audio/visual show in 2020.
Justin was born in Cornwall, UK, to two musician parents. He now lives in Los Angeles with his writer wife and two illiterate cats.
